Adriel Denae grew up in the Uptown neighborhood of Chicago within a philanthropic, musical family and community just a stone’s throw from relics of the gilded and jazz ages and swing and big band eras - The Green Mill Lounge, Aragon Ballroom and Uptown Theater. Gospel, jazz, folk, blues and the sounds and experiences of a uniquely diverse neighborhood pointed her sensibilities towards collaboration, timelessness and mystery.
After 2 years studying mathematics in central Illinois, she began touring and performing music more regularly, first with a band called Elanors and most recently and for the longest period, with partner Cory Chisel. In early 2014 she embarked on her first solo project, recording with Norah Jones as producer. Shortly after completion, a surprising twist brought her first child and a new opportunity of stewardship in Northeast Wisconsin. Her focus shifted for 3 years, while she learned to care for an 80 year old former monastery on 11 acres of land and formed an Arts Foundation to support artist residencies and community transformation through the space. Inspired by her new surroundings and immersion in nature and motherhood, she developed a natural skin care line based on midwifery and herbal techniques from the 1800's with partner, Jen Auerbach.
Her debut album was released in August 2018 by Refuge Arts.
